In 2014, HRSA’s Maternal and Child Health Bureau launched a new cooperative agreement program to increase the adoption of safe infant sleep behaviors among infant caregivers. As a result, the National Center for Education in Maternal and Child Health (NCEMCH) at Georgetown University, in collaboration with its partners—the National Center for Cultural Competence, First Candle, and Tomorrow's Child— has created the National Action Partnership to Promote Safe Sleep (NAPPSS). NAPPSS engages a coalition of over 50 advocacy organizations, professional associations, faith communities, and business groups with the active involvement of federal partners. The mission of NAPPSS is to develop and implement a practical action plan to make safe infant sleep a national norm. Join this webinar to see the debut of the National Action Plan produced by the NAPPSS coalition. This framework, built upon on the foundation of the Theory of Planned Behavior, clarifies the vision of the coalition and sets forward a path for measurable impact by national, state and local organizations working to reduce Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID). To learn more about the NAPPSS coalition in advance of the webinar, please visit www.nappss.org.
